So my name is Emma but my nickname among close family members is Emsy, hence the name of my studio.
After graduating with a degree in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths University, I worked as a freelance designer before embarking on a career in teaching. I have spent the past 15 years teaching Graphic Design, Media and Film Studies to secondary school students in the UK (I know, I know, I’m crazy, right!).
I love being a teacher but the creative itch is always there, so I have continued to work freelance with small businesses and have run a successful Etsy shop for the past 6 years where I sell a range of prints and custom-made artwork.
Some of my interests outside of design include going to the cinema because I'm a total film buff - and before you ask, yes I do have a favourite film, and yes, it is Jaws! But if I'm not watching a movie, you can usually find me playing video games, listening to Bette Midler, who has been my idol since the age of 11, or drinking tea!
